Gallery Sekiryu is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Ayumu Taniguchi, whose three-dimensional works are created with wire and thread.
Weaving, knotting, intertwining.
Working endlessly with paper-wrapped wire and craft thread between her fingertips, Taniguchi’s process unfolds like drawing in three dimensions, tracing a single continuous line through space.This extraordinarily long line expands into forms reminiscent of bodily organs—a line that, she says, has no predetermined end.
Following its presentation in Aoyama, the exhibition will travel to Matsumoto. We warmly invite you to visit the exhibition.

Lines and a Vein
For me, making is a joy.
Just as a young child reaches out to touch everything, puts things in their mouth, and comes to know the world, I feel that making art is an act of extending my senses outward—of touching, feeling, responding to, and taking in the world in its entirety, before it has yet taken shape in words.
It is a way of continually expanding myself. A drawing in which I keep tracing a line that will not end until my world closes.
If the materials shaped by hand, the time accumulated in the making, and each individual fragment can be thought of as “Lines,” then, when I step back and look at these everyday acts from a slight distance, perhaps there emerges the sense of an unceasing presence—like a single “Vein” running through them all.
"Lines and a Vein" is an attempt to recognize and share both the path of the lines I have continued to draw to this point, and the presence of the vein that breathes beneath them.
